SKALAR is a large-scale artistic installation that explores the complex impact of light and sound on human perception. For the first time in another city, the show came to Mexico City after having a resounding success in Berlin in the iconic cultural space Kraftwerk Berlin.
In November 2019, Frontón México hosted this audiovisual artistic experience, presented in Mexico thanks to the collaboration of Noiselab with the WHITEvoid studio.
Created by light artist Christopher Bauder and musician Kangding Ray, this monumental artwork is a reflection on the fundamental nature and essence of human emotions. By combining a vast array of kinetic mirrors and perfectly synchronized moving lights with a sophisticated multi-channel sound system, SKALAR offers an audiovisual narration of radiant light vectors and multi-dimensional sound in enormous pitch-dark space.
SKALAR is an intense journey through the cycles of basic human emotions. The ever-changing shades light, sound and movement trigger the full spectrum of emotional experiences. The feelings of amazement, surprise and euphoria are created, explored and repeated in cycles throughout the piece, providing a collective emotional — but at the same time — extremely individual experience.
