LOCATION: Frontón México
The Frontón México, where SKALAR will take place, was the first roofed venue for large-scale sporting events in the Mexican capital. Designed by the architects Teodoro Kunhardt and Joaquín Capilla in the art deco style, it was inaugurated in 1929 and functioned as such until 1996 when it closed due to labor disputes.
In December 2015, there began the process of restoration and conditioning of the building carried out by the Mexican architect José Moyao López under the supervision of the National Institute of Fine Arts. On March 10, 2017, Frontón México opened its doors to the public and has become a venue for music, fashion and art events, as well as the location for the jai alai sport.
